- Our Design Team are acutely aware of the high risk of accidents and injury during construction and work closely with our Construction Department to ensure that buildability of the structure is considered, risks are managed and where possible eradicated in accordance with current CDM regulations with the use of design risk assessments.
- Royden are a pro-active company who welcome the chance to integrate with the design teams to provide value engineering and give cost effective solutions. Here our experience is invaluable in advising on material choice, cost effective framing solutions, connection details, fire protection and paint treatment.
- We use both the latest X-Steel and Strucad 3-D modelling and detailing packages that link to Winsteel CNC Data preparations. Our experienced draughtsmen are instrumental in the success of any project and the 3D modelling tools are invaluable during the development stage as a visual aid of the structure.
The Engineering ProcessIn an attempt to eradicate the use of technical queries and to establish clarity of the details to be provided, Royden have developed a process of model development. The system improves the line of communication between all parties and aids the transfer of information. Royden have found the process is invaluable in successful project execution and lends itself to a less combative outcome. To facilitate this process Royden provide the following:
- Involvement at the early stages of the project, interacting with the client’s design teams to provide a value engineering service.
- Attendance by our design representative and/or Project Manager at all technical meetings for the project.
- Pro-active involvement in the harvesting of information from the Consulting Engineer and all applicable sub trades.
- The model is built to the very latest information.
- Any information not known .i.e. member size, level, location etc. are highlighted in the model in a unique colour/class. A workshop is organised with all relevant parties and any missing information is agreed and incorporated into the model.
- The outcome of the meeting is a complete structure model which effectively supersedes the construction issue drawings.
- The procedure assures the project certainty of details and cost and leads to an effective project delivery.
